About DAR Membership
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her Patriot ancestor.
We have fun while learning together and helping others! Our charitable focus is on:
- Education
- Patriotism
- Historic Preservation
Who we are in Cannon Ridge Chapter, NSDAR:
We are a patriotic, strictly nonpartisan, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization. We focus on providing support and services in our local communities near Ridgefield, Connecticut.
As a diverse multigenerational group of women, we encourage others who believe they may have a patriot ancestor to reach out and connect with us. Even if you're not sure if you have a patriot, we have members who are happy to work on genealogy with you.
