Ridgefield's Good Citizen
“With the opportunity and fortune of living in America, I am able to provide my own special way of giving back…I will remember the Patriots that fought long and hard for my freedom. And as I work hard to become a policy maker, I will not forget who and what gave me the courage to make a change.”
Ella Rose Tiktin250 Valentines for Veterans!
In our America 250 year we made 250 valentines to deliver to 250 veterans.
It was a joy to spend time with these wonderful young Girl Scouts and share with them what a life of service can look like.
Lt. Leah Hughes Honored
It's not every day that we get to celebrate and honor one of our own chapter daughters and veterans. Winter came early to greet us this year, but the warm hearts surrounding our veterans more than made up for the snow flurries. A salute to Leah (or Lee) one of the strongest women we have the privilege of knowing!

Good Citizen Award
December 2025
Ella Rose Tiktin, a local Ridgefield High School senior, is this year’s Cannon Ridge Chapter, NSDAR, Good Citizen Award recipient. This prestigious award is bestowed on a deserving student who exemplifies the qualities of “Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism”. Following the events of October 7th in Israel, Ms. Tiktin channeled her grief into action and created notecards featuring her artwork and a written sentiment. She is donating 100 percent of the proceeds to the Israeli Children's Fund, a nonprofit aiding children of the October 7th terrorist attack who have lost parents in the ongoing fighting.

Daughter Honored on Veterans Day
November 11, 2025
Our chapter's own daughter, Navy Lieutenant Leah Hughes was honored as the featured speaker at the Ridgefield Veterans Day ceremony. Her moving speech reminded us of the deep impression serving our nation can make on a service member and their family, and the importance of honoring that gift. Congratulations Lieutenant Hughes!
